Roth Society panel at 2013 ALA Symposium
At this year’s ALA symposium on “War and American Literature” (to be held at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, October 10-12), the Philip Roth Society will be sponsoring a panel on War in the Fiction of Philip Roth. The subject of war has found its way into Roth’s writing on many occasions, in such books as The Plot Against America, Portnoy’s Complaint, The Human Stain, Indignation, and Sabbath’s Theater, among others. We welcome proposals for papers on any aspects of this topic. Proposals/abstracts (not exceeding 300 words) for 20-minute papers should be emailed to the Program Chair, David Gooblar, atgooblarPRS [at] gmail.com, by July 15, 2013.
Papers presented may be expanded and submitted for publication to Philip Roth Studies. To present a paper as a part of a Roth Society panel, participants must be members of the Philip Roth Society, as well as register for the conference. For membership information, please see the Society’s website at http://rothsociety.org/society/membership/. For information on the conference, please see the ALA website: http://www.calstatela.edu/academic/english/ala2/
