Philip Roth Will Not Be Attending the National Book Festival
Back in May, we had posted that Philip Roth would be one of the headliners attending the Library of Congress’s 12th annual National Book Festival in Washington, D.C., Sept. 22 and 23. However, as reported by the Washington City Paper yesterday, Roth’s name was nowhere to be found on the festival’s updated website. Furthermore, a spokesperson for the Library of Congress affirms that Roth will not be at the event. For more on this news, go to the Washington City Paper.
Philip Roth was originally going to be one of several prestigious fiction writers and poets attending the National Book Festival, including T.C. Boyle, Mario Vargas Llosa, Robert Caro, Geraldine Brooks, Junot Díaz, Colson Whitehead, Philip Levine and Jeffrey Eugenides.
