Happy birthday to Philip Roth, who was born on this day in 1933. As members of the Roth Society know, Roth is American’s preeminent novelist and winner of almost every major literary award. Yet, even at 79, the writer continues to produce significant works and remains every bit as relevant today as he was with the publication of his first short story in 1954.
